eVisitor Visa

The eVisitor Visa (Subclass 651) lets foreigners visit Australia as often as desired in a 12-month period for up to three months at a time.

WHAT THIS VISA ALLOWS:

eVisitor Visa (Subclass 651) holders can travel to Australia:

  • To visit family and friends
  • As a tourist, for example, to cruise or to have a holiday
  • As a business visitor

THE REQUIREMENTS:

To apply for an eVisitor Visa, candidates must:

  • Apply from outside of Australia
  • Hold an eligible passport
  • Have enough money to support themselves during their stay in Australia
  • Meet health and character requirements

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The difference between the ETA (Subclass 601) and eVisitor (Subclass 651) lies mainly in the nationalities accepted for each visa. The application process is also different.

It isn’t possible to extend an eVisitor visa. Visa holders must explore other visas to stay in Australia longer.

The eVisitor Visa (Subclass 651) is valid for 12 months and allows for visits of up to three months at a time.
