WHAT THIS VISA ALLOWS:

Remaining Relative Visa holders can:

  • Permanently live in Australia
  • Work and study in Australia
  • Enrol in Australia’s public healthcare scheme, Medicare
  • Sponsor eligible relatives to come to Australia
  • If eligible, apply for Australian citizenship

THE REQUIREMENTS:

To apply for the Remaining Relative Visa, candidates must:

  • Be the remaining relative of an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
  • Have an eligible sponsor who is your: 
    • Parent
    • Step-parent
    • Sibling 
    • Step-sibling
    • Or an eligible partner of your relative
  • Meet Australia’s health and character requirements
