WHAT THIS VISA ALLOWS:

New Zealand Business Visitor Visa holders can:

  • Visit New Zealand for business purposes for up to three months
  • Study while in New Zealand

Please note: Travellers from visa-waiver countries don’t have to apply for a Business Visitor Visa but must hold an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority).

THE REQUIREMENTS:

To apply for a Business Visitor Visa, candidates must: 

  • Visit New Zealand for business purposes 
  • Have enough money to support themselves while in New Zealand or the financial support of their employer
  • Agree to pay their own healthcare or medical assistance costs
  • Have a ticket to leave New Zealand or have someone to sponsor the cost
  • Meet New Zealand's health and character requirements

INFORMATION TO NOTE ABOUT THE ELIGIBLE BUSINESS PURPOSES:

Business Visitor Visas can visit New Zealand for up to three months to conduct any of these business activities:

  • Carrying out an official trade mission recognised by the New Zealand government
  • Selling goods and services in New Zealand
  • Buying New Zealand goods and services
  • Negotiating or discussing the set-up, expansion or wind-up of a business in New Zealand
  • Carrying out any business with the authorised representatives of an overseas company, body or person

When a person has to conduct other work activities or stay for longer than three months, they must apply for a work visa.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

To apply for a Business Visitor Visa, applicants must have enough money to live on while in New Zealand:

  • At least NZD1,000 per month per person, or
  • at least NZD400 per month per person  if accommodation is already paid 

Immigration New Zealand accepts all of the following as evidence that the funds are available: 

  • Proof of prepaid accommodation
  • Bank statements
  • Credit card statements
  • Bank drafts
  • Travellers’ cheques
  • A ‘Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry’ completed by an eligible sponsor

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

New Zealand Business Visitor Visa applicants can include their partner and dependent children under the age of 20 in their application on condition that they'll travel to New Zealand as a family. The applicant’s family must also meet the conditions of the Visitor Visa, and the applicant must prove their relationship to the rest of the family.

Business Visa Visitor Visa holders can stay in New Zealand for up to three months to conduct business activities.
