Australian Student Visas are for school-going children and tertiary students. Guardians also have visas available to them to join the student in Australia.
The Student Visa is for migrant children of school–going age and adult migrants who want to study in Australia.
The Student Guardian Visa enables a parent, custodian or relative of a Student Visa holder to stay in Australia temporarily to care for and support the student.

The Australian Student Visa is usually valid for up to five years. Primary school children enrolled in years one to four will generally get a Student Visa valid for up to three years.
Student Visa holders do not automatically qualify for Australian permanent residency. Instead, Student Visa holders who’d like to become permanent residents must apply for a visa that’ll allow them to do that.
Student Guardian Visa holders are not allowed to work in Australia. That’s why Australia expects these visa holders to prove that they have enough money for the duration of their stay to cover costs and expenses.
Unfortunately, only one parent at a time can hold a Student Guardian Visa.
