The Visitor Visa is valid for up to three months if the visa applicant is travelling for business.
For holiday purposes, the Visitor Visa is valid for up to 12 months, with the duration decided on a case-by-case basis. The Department of Home Affairs will consider the applicant’s reason for their visit and how long they ask to stay when deciding on the duration of the visa.
It is only possible to extend a Subclass 600 Visa in Australia if it doesn’t have a ‘no further stay’ condition. The Department of Home Affairs can waive this condition only in exceptional circumstances.
Australia grants the Visitor Visa either as a single entry or multiple entry visa. Visa applicants who get a multiple entry visa can enter and leave Australia as often as desired while their visa is valid.
